Learn All The Secrets Of The African Grey Parrot

Learn All The Secrets Of The African Grey Parrot

The African grey parrot is a medium-sized parrot that originates from the central parts of Africa. They are said to be perhaps the most intelligent of all parrots, with an adept ability to mimic human words and expressions. This is the reason why they are very popular as pets in modern day households. Most African grey parrots are predominantly grey all over with a small color difference on their tails, usually maroon or a darker shade of grey.

One incredible characteristic that the African grey parrot carries is its incredible ability to solve even the most complex of problems. Very few parrot species have this kind of ability and it is because of this that the African grey stands out above the rest. This characteristic is tied in with their talking ability as they can learn to mimic any sound just by listening and applying this to their own vocal patterns.

Every African grey parrot has the potential to mimic almost every sound that hears, however some more than others. Parrots that are left alone in their cages with no way to stimulate their brains generally learn to talk or mimic the sounds they hear around them. Parrots that are handled often by humans have no need for the extra stimulation that sound imitation provides them so they often learn very few sounds. This doesn’t mean people should neglect their parrots for the sole reason of getting them to talk. There are different training manuals to help parrots learn the basics of sound imitation.

One notorious trait that the African grey parrot has is its feather plucking habit. This can make for a very messy and disease ridden cage and therefore owners are advised to clean the parrot cage once every two or three days. The reason why a parrot plucks his or her feathers is because it is bored and needs a source of stimulation. If owners spend enough time with their parrot every day, perhaps one or two hours, it will have no need to pluck its feathers as it is getting enough stimulation from the human presence around it.

It is commonly known that an African grey parrot can become almost fully attached to one human and therefore become aggressive towards other people. This trait just proves one thing, that African grey parrots are the perfect companion. You could perhaps say that they are the new mans best friend!

All The Little Known Secrets Of Having A Baby Parrot

All The Little Known Secrets Of Having A Baby Parrot

There are many people need to know before they decide to go out and buy a baby parrot, such as important information about caring, including feeding, cleaning and training. This article will endeavor to explain everything there is to know about parrots so that when the time comes for you to go out and buy your own baby parrot, you will be fully confident in your ability to look after your own parrot.

So what is the first thing you need to know about caring for your new baby parrot? Well, first of all, a parrot is not like a cat or a dog in the sense they can be handled often. When parrots are young, they must be treated with care. The first thing you must remember is to not pick your bird up to often as this will teach it to be too dependent on yourself, this is not what you want. What you need to work towards instead is a baby parrot that grows into an independent mature parrot that is able to look after itself without your help. Of course this doesn’t mean it’s going to be able to open up the kitchen cabinet and get its own food, you’ll have to do that!

Some people, who don’t know how to care for a baby parrot in its initial stage of life, tend to ‘baby’ their bird too much. This will cause the parrot to depend on the owner too much and you often see parrots that follow their owners around everywhere. One of the ways you can stop your parrot from doing this is to turn your back on him or her every time it is looking for unnecessary attention. This will immediately tell the parrot’s brain that they can no longer rely on their owners solely and it will start to become more independent.

The second thing you will need to know about owning a baby parrot is their feeding patterns. Initially it’s not going to want to eat a lot due to the fact he or she has been brought into a completely new and different environment. So to start off with, it’s not a bad idea to feed it some tasty treats so it feels welcome and excited about being in a new scene. One of the most favorite treats for parrot are crackers, smeared with a little honey. Your baby parrot will munch it down like there’s no tomorrow!

Find Out The Secrets Of Having A Talking Parrot!

Find Out The Secrets Of Having A Talking Parrot!

Is it not the dream of a parrot owner to each one of his or her peers that they have a talking parrot? I know that was my goal. I always wanted to have a parrot that would greet every new guest that entered my house. It took a lot of training but in the end I finally achieved this goal and was able to tell everyone about it. What are some of the best things about having a talking parrot?

The first great thing about having a talking parrot is that you can teach them to answer every question you ask them with either a yes or no. How many other types of pets are there that can actually tell you if they have done something bad? After a great deal of practice a parrot can have the ability to understand every question it has been taught. Pretty amazing when you think about it.

Another great thing about having a talking parrot is that you can have your own greeting butler if you like at your front door saying hello or good evening or even have a great day and don’t trip over as you walk out the door! Its amazing to see the looks on people faces when they hear something shout out, how are you without knowing that its actually the parrot sitting on its perch right in front of them saying it.

The last great thing about owning a talking parrot is that you can teach them to say anything you want it to say. You can teach it to be polite or you can teach it to be rude, polite is recommended of course. This means that you can teach them to ask any question, reply to any comment or just randomly say anything you want. This of course will take a lot of training but in the end it is definitely worth it. Think about when you are sitting at home all alone because no one loves you and all you want to do is have someone to talk to. I know this has happened to me on a few occasions that I do not wish to repeat! If or when this happens you can always just sit down and have a good old chat with your parrot and the best thing is, he or she will only say exactly what it has been taught to say, by you. This means no back chatting or unnecessary arguments. You can have a nice pleasant conversation with a polite, caring and most importantly funny parrot.

So there it is the three best things about having your own talking parrot. Remember teaching a parrot how to talk takes a lot of time and some serious hard work. It will not happen overnight but it will happen. So if you do decide that you want to have your own talking parrot be ready for a hard road ahead, but also a great end to your journey!

“Who Else Wants to Quickly and Easily Have the Perfect Parrot: Healthy, Happy, and Thriving For Years to Come?”

Some amazing facts about parrot care… and why you shouldn’t even think about getting a parrot until you read every word of this letter!

Parrots get sick easily. In fact, most parrots in captivity live just a few years! But most diseases are 100% curable if you know what they have, and which medication to give them.

Parrots CAN live for up to 60 years…but improper diets drastically cut the longevity of your parrot – by not just years, but decades!

Parrots thrive — both physically and emotionally –when their diets are properly administered…unfortunately there is a ton of *wrong* information out there on how to do this!

From: Michael Joseph, Tuesday 3:23 PM

Dear Friend,

Did you just get a new parrot and have no idea how to care for it?

Do you own a parrot who “looks” sick, and is plucking his feathers constantly?

Are you interested in learning the best, fastest and easiest way to care for your parrot so that he lives a long and healthy life, without spending a lot of money on supplies?

If you answered “yes” to any of the questions above, then this may very well be the most exciting message you’ve read all day. Here’s why…

You’re about to discover a proven system for optimizing your parrot’s physical and emotional health as well as his energy level. This system works whether your parrot is healthy or sick.

Here’s the thing: Parrots are very delicate creatures

They get sick easily, and they can die easily. What you probably don’t know is that sickness and early death can be totally prevented by providing them with the proper nutrition and attention from the very beginning!

When you know how to meet your parrot’s nutritional needs, you can sit back and relax because your parrot will stay healthy.

What most people don’t realize is that proving your bird with the proper diet is extremely easy to do. I know, because…

I’ve been caring for and breeding parrots for over 25 years!

In that time, I’ve developed a foolproof ‘formula’ for feeding parrots, setting up a healthy cage environment with perfect health and diet conditions that maximize your parrot’s health and energy for years to come, and virtually eliminate any chance that your parrot will ever get sick.

I’ve compiled all my knowledge into an easy to follow, downloadable guide called “Raising Polly: How-to Raise a Healthy, Happy, Well Adjusted Bird.” It’s everything you needed to know about pet parrots.

This system is guaranteed to teach you everything you need to know about parrot care and greatly reduce the risk that your parrot will face those emotional problems that beset so many of these birds who are kept as pets.

I know that’s a bold promise and it might sound a little “over the top” …but it’s true, and I can back up every word.

All The Amazing Secrets for Training Parrots

It’s the question most parrot owners ask when they first decide to purchase a parrot. “How easy is it to training a parrot?” The answer really depends not on the parrot, but on the owner and their dedication to spend everyday doing what’s necessary to train their parrot.

The Three Golden Rules

There are three golden rules that every owner must remember and they are, one, make sure you give your training parrot as much human interaction as possible. The more human the environment, the easier it will be to get results.

Two, if you have another parrot that can talk, allow the new parrot to spend a great deal of time in its company. Parrots are animals and most animals(including humans) will imitate each other unconsciously. Finally, is the particular species of parrot you bought known for their speaking abilities? Do some research before you make your final decision. The amazon parrot and the grey parrot are known for their talking abilities.

So how do you train your parrot to talk? Well, just as a child learns to talk, it is the same for parrots. Repetition is the key to success. Decide what particular words you want your parrot to say and then with the use of treats such as crackers, constantly repeat the chosen words to your parrot.

When he or she finally repeats one of your words, give it a treat. This will then have an unconsious affect on your parrots brain that will trigger a response to tell him or her that saying that word is a good thing. Again it is important to emphasise the fact repetition is the key to success make sure you stay mostivated to the task at hand.

The Importance Of Emotions

Usually parrots learn their names first. Why is this? Because they associate their name with human interaction which for parrots is a good thing. You will notice that parrots are most happy when they are getting attention from humans.

Therefore if you are able to get your bird into a happy state, by raising the pitch and tone of your voice, the words you speak will have more meaning to their brains. Sounding dull and boring with a low pitch and slow tempoed voice therefore will hinder your parrot’s training capacity. Just ask yourself this question – would you rather listen to a comedian or a Biology professor? I know what I’d prefer!
