Birds need to learn the “step up” command. Put your hand in front of the bird, when it climbs on say step up….do this over and over and the bird will learn to automatically come back onto your hand. Hope this helps

I try to lean him back and he just readjusts his feet. I try and support his back with my hand and it still doesn’t work. What are some ways to get him to do it? It is an african grey timneh btw,

I’ve been training my Nanday Conure to wave, give me things etc.. But how do you get them to land on your hand?? Ive tried making her fly and putting my hand above the perch but no matter how much I try and get her to land on my hand she just dodges it. Shes not scared of me or anything and she trusts me, she will step up really easily. I was wondering if any of you know how to train them to land on your hand and then maybe after I’ve acheived that maybe get her to fly to me. But I’ll do it one step at a time.
Thanks!!

I have recently bought a H/R green-cheeked conure. When he was in in the pet store he was fine, a little scared, but very tame. Since i have gotten him home his attitude has gotten progressively worse. He will still be happy to step up, and sit on my shoulder, but every now and then he just flips out. biting hard (nearly drawing blood). running away and squarking, I dont understand what triggers these changes or how to fix them. I’ve tried rewarding him with good behavor with food but he isnt interested in the food (even fresh fruit/veggies). hes perfectly fine 50% of the time, the other 50% of the time he abosolute hates me and does everything he can to get away…
any suggestions?
