My african grey has received lots of scratches(which it really likes) and now whenever I try to teach it to step up, it just ignores me and asks for a scratch. Is there a way to fix this?

I have 11 birds including an African Gray. If it wants a scratch, tell it in a firm voice, ‘No.’ then tell it to step up again. if it attempts to bite you, tap its beak and say again in a firm voise no. We just grab ours by the body then put it on our arm. Not sure if it will work with your bird but we can try. Hope this helped

i have ring neck parrot he is 1 year old but i have a problem training him. he is not learning any thing i started to train him to shake hands for 2 day but he is not responding i heard that ring necks are stupid
how many days that he will learn tricks properly when i want to shake hands he step ups

look on the internet, or ask at Pet Depot. Actually, I learned ALOT about training my Collie on YOU Tube. People are so helpul on there. good luck!

if you just got the parrot, let it get used to you. i recently got two parakeets and they didn’t want to come out of anything at first, but they let us touch them. Maybe try having him get on your hand and let you take him out of his cage, he might just need some time to be comfortable. if you recently got him, something might have happened to him before you and he could still be scared that something will ahppen to him again…

How i got my cockertiel to let me touch him was put my finger up close to him if he stayed still i gave him a treat but if he bite i wait a few seconds and try again, i kept doing this till i was touching his head
